Considering it's happened in several games, you'd think more fanworks would've focused on the implications of bestowing super forms on others versus just using the emeralds at the same time. Personally, I think a bestowed form should put more stress on the one gifting the powers, but with the benefit that they can empower people that might not be able to sustain their own super form.
We also haven't had any distinction between the super forms derived from the Master Emerald versus the Chaos Emeralds. I'd imagine the ME's super forms would be more about balancing and absorbing energy. A ME-based Super Knuckles wouldn't be as powerful as Super Sonic, but would be able to absorb his attacks and redirect the energy back at him. I'd also make it require regular contact with the ME, since regular super forms require collecting seven emeralds (and because Mecha Sonic had to keep recharging in his fight with Knuckles)
Not suggesting you should use these ideas in your comic though, I'm just trying to work out what I want to do with them. I've been thinking about a super form based on the Time Stones, where it manipulates time/causality instead of space like the emeralds, but time powers are inherently OP so it's tricky.

>>450662 Same. I've been thinking of it in terms of string theory, where gravity's comparatively weak to the other forces because it "leaks" out through extra dimensions. My idea would be that chaos energy is all that extra gravitational energy, which is why it can warp space and time. Different people can innately use it for different things, like Tails and Rouge using it to fly by somewhat counteracting gravity. There's no way they could naturally fly with tails or wings that small. Sonic obviously uses it to warp spacetime around himself, making time move more quickly for him. Knuckles increases his strength by manipulating inertia, putting more behind his punches. Actually, they all manipulate inertia, which is how they never seem to get that injured from falls or battles. All this would be second nature to them, but they probably wouldn't be consciously aware they're using chaos energy. I plan on having Gerald be the first to formally study chaos energy in a scientific way
Still not sure how to handle magic users, but elemental based chaos energy would be a good way to do it. I do like the idea of a skill tree, where characters learn how to manipulate it in new ways throughout the story

No, I hate when series go too 'in-depth' about explaining how people do what they do, it ruins everything by introducing such autism. When martial arts series handwave everyone being able to naturally train to get super strong because Ki/Chakra exists that is about the absolute limit.
Sonic is fast, knuckles is strong and can glide, tails and rogue can fly despite it being physically impossible. Its an explicitly cartoonish adventure universe, that's good enough. There doesn't need to be some bullshit explanation linking all these different things together.

It's horrifying, but it's such a well executed nightmare I find it genuinely fascinating.

The way the previews come off feels like even if Mimic is exposed and kicked out, there will be lingering distrust among the team. Ousting Mimic with Silver could be the perfect way to pull the Diamond Cutters closer.

Decided to read the IDW thread and now I'm mad. Some notes (spoilered in case anyone wants to read the comic): It's just 42 pages of Sonic running around doing nothing. They hint at StC using a watercolo(u)r style for a few pages They hint at the OVA by having Eggman fight Sonic in an anime mech in that ruins of New York They mention "big oof" because they're salty babies There is absolutely no hint of Archie that I could see. Admittedly I did glaze over it since it was mega-boring Shadow's gone full Vegeta but he does stand next to Rouge. Sonic makes a point to not say "Shadow and Rouge." Can't have the readers thinking they're friends or anything! There's no meaningful talk between Sonic and his friends about what they mean to each other, which you'd expect in a milestone comic And worst of all: THERE WAS NO FUCKING ROUGH AND TUMBLE!
