The newest chapter of Sonic Redux is out and it’s a chunky one! Not only will we get see Sonic’s first fight against Robotnik but find out about the mysterious chaos emeralds!

Question: Some artists have stopped working on their individual comics to help on bigger projects. Archie Sonic Online and Sonic Legacy come to mind. Do you like it when artists and writers band together at the sacrifice of their solo work?

Sonic and the Freedom Fighters Note: One of the earliest ideas I had for the comic was a “Five Nightmares” series of arcs that would show each Freedom Fighter dealing with some mental issue and be brought to their lowest point. They would eventually bounce back only for an evil alternate universe version of them to fight them. But I mostly abandoned this because Scourge and the Suppression Squad would be redundant. You can still see the remnants of that in this series. (Sonic = Anger, Sally = Depression, Tails = Isolation, Antoine = Cowardice, and Bunnie = Emotionless)

Also, last thread had an update for Nectar: The World Before. Check the OP of the last thread for posts replying to it.

No, not really. It just reminds me of Evan completely dumsptering GOTF entirely because she got gobbled up by IDW, which was lower quality in literally all aspects.

Interesting. Psychological issues in media have mostly been poisoned for me, but characters should still have their flaws picked at in my opinion.

It's kind of weird how Eggman never feels the need to create stronger badniks for his big debut. I think only Sonic Genesis had him open with badniks that were tough enough on their own to be a serious issue for even Sonic.

The End needed four things things that can outright kill Super Forms + an entire reality powered by all the chaos emeralds to merely stall and imprison when it was at full power vs Solaris, who got its shit rocked by 3 of them, couldn't even kill any of them instantly (though it could harm them), and only lasted that long because it had a unique defense mechanism of existing in all points of time and space simultaneously. Varies in both scripts, but in both its goals revolve around 'Order'. In the original English script, it desires to erase everything and leave only perfect nothingness out of a combination of sheer malicious sadism and because it views Life (and therefore Chaos) as being a stain on the blissful state of nonexistence preceding all things. In the JP script, it's more like a universal arbiter who deems Life too chaotic and uncontrollable to operate within a functioning system/universe, so it seeks to wipe it out - not necessarily out of malice, but simply stone-cold logic that would put any Eggman drone to shame. When it's defeated in the JP script, it even seems to come to an understanding regarding life as a whole and doesn't sound vexed or antagonistic over being stopped at all like it does in the English version.

Basically, it's a case where it's an omnicidal psychopath in one version and in the other it's basically no different from a cosmic operating system or paperclip maximizer.

My interpretation was it just wants the universe to be quiet, orderly, sterile, and for it to be the only sentient lifeform (which is pretty much SatAM Robotnik's ultimate goal). The JP script may make it out as some cosmic force that's doing things dispassionately, but we see it's capable of deception, making decisions, and appealing to emotions. I'd argue it genuinely wants to destroy things for its own reasons, not just because it's the cosmic equivalent of a natural disaster

The Egg Wizard blowing up the planet obviously wouldn't have just been a simply planet-wiping blast, especially when it's being powered by an energy source greater than any of the emeralds and should be orders of magnitude beyond Eggman's constellation-busting weapon in Battle and Emerl.

The other examples you cited are likewise case specific, so I agree that you are basically shitposting at this point. Unless you have a VERY good reason why Eggman's non-emerald powered superweapon is stronger than all of the emeralds (somehow) or why he'd even need the emeralds or stuff like the Power of the Stars if he can casually build shit like that in a day which can obliterate Super Forms.

None of the rights holders care unless you're very egregious about it. Stuff like using the same name and looking too official might get C&D'd but that's very rare. For example, Justice League Unlimited was a porn game that got in trouble because it was making a lot of money and shared the same name as the show. DC told the artist to stop and the artist changed it to Something Unlimited and everything seems to be fine. But some rights holders are very petty. Sega doesn't give a fuck.
