Now that we got of all of that, let’s get back to some simple comics! From Twi— I mean X!

Question: How important is powerlevel consistency to you?

Sonic and the Freedom Fighters Note: Before settling on the comic the way it is, I had planned on doing a more direct continuation of the Archie series. It would involve someone messing with time to get rid a lot of crap in the comics because there was a lot of stuff that just wasn’t good, merge the two different Archie continuities, and lead up to Sonic and Eggman fighting on his final space station. The plan being that he would use all the chaos emeralds and Master Emerald to wipe out the entire multiverse and start from scratch as a god. It would end with Eggman mortally wounded and the space station about to blow up. His final act was sending away an unconscious Sonic in the only escape pod, ultimately showing his respect for his nemesis. It wasn’t the end but would set up a new status quo. Everything detailed in this I have no intention on using in this series but the stuff I haven’t mentioned has a strong possibility of being used.

Also, last thread had an update for Sonic and the Freedom Fighters, Egg Dimension, Sonic Desolation, and Heart of the Hedgehog. Check the OP of the last thread for posts replying to it.

It's another part of continuity to be maintained but as I'm not super anal about it. Character's capabilities should be consistent but strategy and circumstance should be more important to whether they win or lose.

Pretty important. I'm not one of those retards who believes anyone can beat anyone and those kinds of people tend to piss me off. I can ignore it if the story is good enough or there's a good explanation, but generally, I dot think random mooks should be a threat to any major character unless it's one of the weaker continuities.

>Sonic and the Freedom Fighters Note: Before settling on the comic the way it is, I had planned on doing a more direct continuation of the Archie series. It would involve someone messing with time to get rid a lot of crap in the comics because there was a lot of stuff that just wasn’t good, merge the two different Archie continuities, and lead up to Sonic and Eggman fighting on his final space station. The plan being that he would use all the chaos emeralds and Master Emerald to wipe out the entire multiverse and start from scratch as a god. It would end with Eggman mortally wounded and the space station about to blow up. His final act was sending away an unconscious Sonic in the only escape pod, ultimately showing his respect for his nemesis. It wasn’t the end but would set up a new status quo. Everything detailed in this I have no intention on using in this series but the stuff I haven’t mentioned has a strong possibility of being used.
Even at his worst, Eggman still respects Sonic. That's an interesting take on how events could have played out.

I usually say anyone can beat anyone provided it makes for a good story but there are limits. It actually soured me on a lot of Batman stories since they take it to such extremes that a rich guy with ninja training is somehow a multiversal-level threat.
I'd be fine with Tails or Knuckles outright beating Sonic in a fight given the right circumstances, but it should never happen with random mooks unless the main character's severely injured. That said, low-tier villains like Rough and Tumble should be set up as a major threat to the less powerful main characters

Rough and Tumble are strong in the same way Bebop and Rocksteady are strong. Incredibly physically powerful, but dumb as a sack of lead bricks. They're better than mooks and could probably severely fuck up Lanolin or the OG Diamond Cutters, but they aren't like, trading blows with Zavok or Omega.

Exactly! I always figured they'd end up rivals to Tangle as she was being trained by Sonic and friends to be a hero, but they just never did anything with it, or with Tangle really. Maybe I was expecting too much, but they never had Tails go from a civilian to a hero overnight in Archie or StC. I honestly think the show would have been better if those two characters were removed. Could never enjoy the character just for themselves or for the interaction they had with other (which is usually enough for me to justify a character existing), but they also basically doesn't help the plot at all either.

Look like even the writers dropped whole puppet thing. Doesn't look like they had a good idea of what to do with them either.

About that, what was the point of not having the Uncle and Aunt not killed when thrown in the communication fire, only for them to be killed by bad Bean anyway? I actually liked those two, even if their machination turned out to be a complete wet-fart. The Troll-Canon gag actually made me laugh.

It’s just branding. Part of the new intiative behind IDW and Prime is to make everything cohesive with the games since they’re doing character-focused stories again. You can’t do that while also introducing stuff like Sonic’s girlfriend Sally (while Amy is being his gf in the games) or that time Sonic cucked Tails (while Tails is saying Sonic’s the best person ever in the games) or Knuckles’ gigantic echidna family (while in the games his only thing is being the last one alive). They don’t want people confused, only one lore for the series.

I know Violet likes to make every character every sexuality possible except straight... so she likely means they kissed intentionally.

But, my personal headcanon for this comic, is Sonic and Knuckles basically having a re-enactment of the Naruto and Sasuke kiss, probably in one of their many interactions in S3&K.
