I wish I could post more often on Archie storytime, but I hadn't done so since the beginning of Moebius arc. I wanna talk more there about Rotor in general, but at the same, I want new readers there to form their own opinions on the pages. >>459631 Boom Amy is the team mom and the one that gets on people's cases for various reasons. She's the most responsible person of the group which is a low bar but everyone has their list of quirks. I won't say she acts exactly like Sally but she's less like the Amy I'm used to in other continuities. The other very different Amy is Fleetway Amy and she's also got Sally like qualities in that she actually does lead the team and stopped worshiping Sonic (although she goes even further to not even show interest in him anymore). She even has a tech savvy female friend that people ship her with and one writer thinks of them as a couple in the future. I will say that Amy has come a long way from her 90s and 2000s and even 2010s characterization. Would've been nice if she was leading the Resistance/Restoration in IDW. Wasn't a fan of her dumping it on Jewel and it got so bad that Vector took command for a fight.

>>459698 Thanks! I give all the characters motives as it is easier to consistently write them. Eggman is fueled by science. He's immoral and can be pretty evil but he's got his reasons for it. From there, everything he does is to help that out. The Death Egg is a fortress that lets him conduct his research with all the resources he wants and not get harassed. He wants the chaos emeralds because they have untold power and he wants to know what they're entirely capable of. He doesn't care about anyone else. He doesn't want to rule the world because it's too much hassle and gets in the way of his experiments. And there's plenty of room for character development. Because even Eggman has a character arc he'll be going through.

An issue will have a new threat and it's defeated and maybe it's brought back again and everyone remembers them. The idea is to keep things simple and focus on fun adventures. Stakes aren't too high and nothing is too serious. I can see Gallagher writing Sonic the same way if Penders never came in and if SatAM's tone was never introduced.

I thought I'd finally post my opinions on Sonic Prime. I'll spoiler some things, but TLDR: Mostly pic related. I really enjoyed the fight choreography (especially the one where Renegade Knux and Sonic teamed up, and Nine constantly appearing as a giant Neo Cortex-esque floating head that yells at Sonic was hilarious. Nine's spire should've had 9 spikes instead of 7. It's maddening!
Plot was a little slow, some episodes were just characters running around and fighting for 20 minutes, and Nine and Sonic could've resolved their differences in half an episode if they'd just communicate. The absolute worst thing was how weird Dread looked when he took off his hat. Oh, and if Season 2 was all about shipping Sonic and Dread (and it was, shut up), Season 3 was all Sonic x Renegade Knux and regular Knux at the end. Sonadow shippers definitely won this season though
Hated that Nine killed off Sails and Mangy, even if it was a fakeout. Having them pilot Mecha-Big was really cool though. Sonic really is mega dumb in this and should've realized Nine thought he'd be erased from existence if he did what Sonic wanted.
As for the ending, I don't agree that just because Sonic went back in time to before the crystal was shattered, those characters never existed/ceased existing. We see their shatterverses stabilize and go back to normal, and the only reason they had to get Sonic back home was because the portal was closing and he wouldn't have survived much longer. Shadow was totally fine and could've stayed if he wanted. My guess is if they ever do another season (or followup comic), they'll just have Tails or Eggman nerd up a plot device to get them back.
Oh, and Renegade Knux and Rebel Rouge are pretty much just Archie Sonic and Sally

Basically the part of Archie Sonic we're at is the suffering part. It doesn't let up until we hit issue 252. But there's Sonic Universe and Mega Man as well. I suscpected something like this was the case but big oof. poor Knuckles. I wish I knew exactly where to find more of this as it seems cutoff. Also, I into Knuckles being suspended thing as a explanation to why there's no others. As in game canon, they dont even bother explaining what happened his parents and other echidnas around. With sally having a bit of the source of all power left implying she saw a bit of the sgw tragedy with it's future powers. That fucked me up a bit for after reading. Its sad but also cute. lol. Not too difficult to order, just moving the Game tie-in teasers so that they don't interrupt an ongoing story yet still fit in the canon. I placed “Hedgehog Day” right after #161 so that his birthday redo could take place right after its first attempt. “Ties That Bind” taking place right after #164 make the most sense. Robotnik, having to deal with anonymous, need someone who, if not trustworthy, is at least predictable and it makes sense the Freedom Fighters might start doing background check right after Snivelli's betrayal.
The story that annoy me the most is the conclusion of 25YL. I was so tempted to just bunch it with the rest of the other 25YL, but in the end, it doesn't interrupt any actual story and #165 announce it anyway. So I am keeping the publishing order.
Nothing forbid the Secret Rings comic tie-in teaser to take place where I put it. Maybe Sonic felt like reading a book after losing Tommy Turtle, it doesn't interrupt any story and is in the ballpark of its publication date.

An other easy one to order, with just the game tie-in teaser I have to move somewhere else. The tow parts of “See Ya’ Later Chao!” fit well right after the main story of #173 and “Honor-Bound” provide a good conclusion for the Enerjak arc.
Like I mentioned before, Espio being present in FCBD throw off the continuity, but I have decided it take place after the wedding as Bunnie is wearing her ring. We'll just assume Espio's clan sent an other chameleon while Espio was MIA. I put “Worth the Effort” right before the FCBD issue because it ends with Sonic telling to Amy that Robotnik is up to something no good. We'll assume it lead to sonic's capture, as this is how the FCBD story start.

Fwooooosh! Done! I don't think I need to detail anything, there. Hadn't had it that easy since the first sonic issues. Most difficult part was to find a point where it wasn't too disruptive to fit them all. Putting them after the Enerjak arc does that the best, IMO.
I guess it is questionable to put them all in a single bunch, but it's not like reading them is required either. I didn't felt like parsing them between the different arcs. Issue #40, of course, is kept out for later use.

I tried to put “Sonic Rush Adventure” as soon as it didn't disrupt a story. But Before that, I thought it was a good fit to put the “Misfit Badniks” beforehand. As much as Sonic is meant to be in an other dimension, I think it's fitting that the last time we see him before the Rush tie-in teaser is when he was still at large at sea. Also, this "chapter" basically start and end with Blaze's universe. I think that's neat.
I am leaving #197 complete with “Sonic and the Black Knight” in it, Sonic might as well have opened an other book at home to relax, after a difficult adventure and getting two Chili dog with him, because he has earned it. Only to get sucked in an other adventure, but he'll be back for #198.
On the other hand, “Invaders From Beyond” and “Sonic Unleashed” both require the gang to have Chaos Emeralds they do not currently possess (and we sadly won't see a point where they do, damn it!) I am currently considering putting them all right before the First Genesis Wave, or maybe the Second, as glimpse of alternate realities. Or I might just as well make them part of the reboot continuity. We'll see.

I am slapping Universe #4 right after Universe #3 because it looks like it takes place right after and I want this Universe arc complete AND this chapter to finish with #200

I've been trying to draw Knuckles for a while now but just can't seem to get the head right. I ended up pulling apart his Frontiers model to work out which part of his head is the dreads and which part is the actual skull. Personally I think it's too elongated and the back dreads should be moved in a bit. Looking back, that thing they did with Sally's hair in reboot is fucking retarded. Honey has hair but they did no such thing with her. Like having the back of sallys ears be red is super retarded. Eggman's objectively evil and has an absolutely massive bodycount
What I think is interesting about Eggman is his core motivations are the same as Sonic's since they both want to have fun and do whatever they want. Eggman wants to beat Sonic, build themeparks and generally show the world he's the best but all the murder and mayhem he causes is just incidental to these goals. It's also something I think a lot of writers don't get about game Sonic. He doesn't see himself as a hero, but literally as a guy that loves adventure. He fights Eggman because it's fun to him, and while he might save people on his adventures, but he doesn't do it because it's the right thing to do, but because he wants to. Sonic might be a good person, and Eggman might be a bad person, but neither view the world through a moral lens .Which is why I hate all the moralizing speeches he gives in IDW
I will say Archie Sonic's completely different to this, as the child of war heroes and having grown up fighting alongside his friends in a underground resistance movement against a dictator that had already taken over. Unlike Gamenic, it's decidedly personal for Archienic

Some people in the last thread were thinking about Sally regaining her free will but still staying roboticized to keep the look. S'pretty neat idea! I propose a compromise: Sally turns back to normal, but she gets a sleek jumpsuit and permanent black sclera for her troubles.

I haven't been here for the whole Archie ride, so I don't really understand what is happening. I like it when it's the Sally & Sonic talking to each other comic. I don't like seeing all the plot threads being unresolved and padded with filler, all at the same time.
Are the writers waiting for audience approval or fan theories to pinch or something? It's weird to see fanart (and even a fan custom toy) of the plot spring up faster than the plot having a second instalment.
