Ever since Newt Gingrich hijacked the Republican Party in 1996, then declared war on democracy ("The Contract On America"), Republicans have pushed to unleash the rich on the middle class and poor. Every law would be turned to the advantage of Republican leaders and party members, and no laws would be available to the masses. Of course, they need to couch it in positive terms, so invent The Freedom Laws. Freedom of Speech means they control propaganda and control news media and the Internet. Freedom of Education abolishes public education, so kids can be sent to indoctrinating schools, or not attend school at all, so are easily controlled. Freedom of Taxation means no more taxes on the rich, and suddenly local governments are dead broke, so services cease. And so on. The Republic isn't about fascism per se, it's about undoing societal bounds so laws are meaningless and corruption rules. And that crushes middle class families like the Aldens. As the brave new world turns the suburbs into a war zone, they have to gather and learn to fight back. And would have, in 24 episodes.

Going through black knight cutscenes for research. Still don't like the blue dude. Can't stand the oh so wise messiah shit with the guy. The last two mainlines got insultingly bad with this. Alright, I'll bite. In SatBK, Merlina has "preserved" Camelot by forcing everyone to live out the same day for eternity. They're perfectly protected, and nothing bad can ever happen to them, but they will never grow, never change, never experience anything new. In a way, it's no different than Eggman trapping animals in robots. They're much safer, but at the cost of being able to truly live their lives. We all know Sonic loves adventure and hates tyranny so how could he not put a stop to that? I'll add that while he would put her down if it came to it, he is also trying to save his friend Merlina.

With The End, it's just some big monster trying to destroy the world. It doesn't matter if it's Earth's time (not that we should believe anything it says), Sonic would rather the adventure continue. I don't think anyone would seriously suggest that Sonic would just sit back and watch his planet (and himself!) be obliterated.

I do agree about The Ancients condemning themselves to stagnation within their cyberspace, but the story makes clear that they're a well meaning, yet flawed people

I hate when that happens, it was a nice story and made me warm up to that ship, makes me sad how the author deleted everything and left the internet like many others. As much as I liked it, I gotta say that when it comes to Tails/Amy stories is not my favorite, not like there are many to chose but there is one that I love above all. Complicated opinions on blaze ahead

She's kind of uninteresting. So is her home, and thing with sonic. Her world being just islands that Sonic's World couldn't already have. You'd think being parallels would be fun between them but not really. IMO sally and sonic have the more entertaining hero-princess dynamic in the series. Do not get the big hub bub for sonic and blaze's relationship after looking.

That being said, this is not to defend silver and blazes. It's forced nothingness with shit (Silver) now stuck to Blaze. Someone that anyone would be better off without. The above mentioned power imbalance is ridiculous for a side character to have. Despite being a guardian of higher proportions, she's allowed to do whatever in IDW. Compared to Knuckles who doesn't do much for guarding something lesser in the grand scheme. Blaze is flat but ultimately not that offensive. I just question some things about her.

For me, it was Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, which had a bunch of gross fleshy powers too. A couple patrons seem to have an issue with a reveal Nicole makes (that I won't spoil) on this page. It's a change and admittedly a pretty big one but important. Which tells me that if patrons have a problem with it then I should expect 10x or 100x more resistance from everyone else. It's a shame because half of the changes seem to be met with skepticism at best and outright rejection at worst. I never expected people wanting a much more faithful recreation of Archie, even seven issues in. I did go the reboot route because I wanted to do things differently. Yeah, fans seem really into Nicole's reboot origin story since it ties in better with what Hurst wanted to do. Personally I always liked the preboot origin where she formed a stable time loop by coming from a future where the Freedom Fighters had already won, but they only won because they had Nicole advising them

I have noticed that people have trouble waiting to see where something leads. I put things here and there to be explained in the future because I prefer building up on it rather than dumping a new revelation all at once. That has rubbed some people, mainly those outside of the Patreon, the wrong way. If the series really did come out as an issue per month there wouldn't be a problem. By now we'd be through all the game adaptations and there'd be an extra issue for every arc to expand on things more. Pic related.

Normally I stay out of stuff like that but honestly Sally gets shit on more than any other character. She's been abused and cried more than anyone else. She's had her family taken away from her and they're the most messed with family in the series (aside from Knuckles'). She's almost and actually died multiple times. Ian loves abusing her. And Eggman rubbed it in her face that she left him with Snively even though he escaped and was then put in Mobotropolis' prison. She's the first to blame herself for her mistakes. Sonic constantly made jabs at her for The Slap before they got back together. When Sonic makes mistakes, people overlook it and even blame others. When Sally makes mistakes, people that hate her will always bring it up. When Sally does something good, it's never mentioned. Anyone who thinks Sally has it easy and the comic doesn't drag her through the coals haven't actually read it. That's why I don't get into that stuff on twitter.
