>>3821>YOOOOOOOOOO!!!! KNUCKLES SEXO ALERT!!!Any excuse for me to post best boy!
>You can say the meta reason is because he's the main bad guy and will always get away with literally anything.I'm fine with him always getting away, but that should be part of the fun. Eggman's ability to survive the consequences of his actions is a legitimate superpower and we should get to see it in action in the comics. If he's going to stroll into a resarunt unarmed he should at least tell Sonic to put on the TV first, which would show Metal holding a village hostage halfway around the world. We should also get to see how he's able to escape the certain death situations he ends up in, something the movies did well when he was stranded on Mushroom World.
I 100% agree about both game and IDW Eggman having enormous body counts. The people he drowned in Station Square in SA1 has to be in the 10s of thousands alone
>Kind of a shame and will just always be weird. It's Forces tier of pretending they aren't there but they totally are guys believe us!!!I'm sure all the humans were just out of shot in the final battle! It's so dumb, and costs Sega nothing to let us have
>I hate this push recently to explain stuff that should have probably been in the game. It seems kinda lazy.I think a lot of it is them seeing Flynn saying something wrong about the lore and then them hurriedly trying to correct it in a way that won't embarrass him (e.g. the two worlds thing). They either need to explain things better to him or tell him to stop discussing the lore in public.
My other issue is that Sega clearly wants to their cake and eat it too, since they want Sonic to have detailed lore for the hardcore fans to obsess over, but are extremely reluctant to nail anything down since that might mean a retcon down the line. As for including it in the games, simple things like having a mix of human and animal people in crowd shots would have solved so many of these issues years ago. Honestly, I'd be happy if they would just put out a lore book that actually explains the lore (the encyclo-speed-ia doesn't count, since it's just a list of games filled with basic factual errors)
>I feel ya. The comic would still get it's own criticism of course, but if they didn't have to make it canon. So much drama surrounding wouldn't be that terrible. But no, we can never be that lucky.I get that Sega wants a cohesive brand image or whatever, but classic, Boom and the movies are already in their own continuities. No one would really care if the comics are their own thing so long as you could conceivably slot the games into some flashbacks. It's not like Sega even allows them to do direct in-universe adaptions of games anymore, considering the last one was SA2
>>3826>It's just that the execution isn't good and, ironically enough, not consistent. That's it exactly. They want all the benefits of a cohesive Sonic but aren't willing to put in the work, hoping fans won't notice so long as Flynn's name's attached to enough projects
>>3837Amy was kind of okay in later Archie, but the Sonic-obsession's always made her somewhat of a one-note character. The only time it's really worked is in Boom, since it was played for laughs. Even then it was a secondary trait after her interests in design, arts & crafts, and being generally neurotic. Of course it helped that Boom Sonic actually liked her back
>>3838>Agreed, I never understood this need for "consistency" across every single part of a franchise. Well said. The variety is what keeps these franchises interesting. I did a Kong movie marathon a while back and it was fascinating to see how the story was tweaked to match the cultural zeitgeist
