I assume it's to avoid spoilers but Sega had been pretty bad at allowing the comics have access to games. That has been changing lately with the Scrapnik mini but time will tell if anything from Frontiers is allowed. It's also depending on how attached Sega is to Sage's usage outside of games. "Dead" characters can't be used, even if they're not really dead. If a character comes back, I would assume Sega would want that to happen in a game, not a comic.

That's because WWMH STARTS with Tails losing most function in his tails and his best friend at that point dying, and only gets worse from there. And if that prequel comic is anything to go by, he genuinely could have been redeemed and helped, but Sonic fucking lost it after he killed Eggman and years of being locked away dumpstered whatever sanity he might have still had. Then he went ahead and started burning the world down.

The story that Tails comes from is definitely edgy, but WWMH combines both edge and tragedy to get its effect.

The big thing to remember about Xenophanes/Lord X is that it's literally the demon equivalent of a toddler or super young child with effective omnipotence. Lean inyo that - it warps and alters reality with every action it takes upon it as a fun game, and less because it's actively trying to kill the heroes. It breaks people and devours their souls to 'play' with them, and it keeps some around as favored toys and others it discards. Sometimes it's calm and cordial when interacting with someone (usually via disguise, but sometimes not), other times it's a ranting screaming mess that can't hide how much it wants to murder you. The big thing to remember about Xenophanes/Lord X is that it's literally something that is utterly insane which has latched onto the identity of Sonic because it found him entertaining. Everything is always a game because it is a child on an powertrip from a cosmic abomination standpoint. What plans it has, if any, aren't going to last long or if they DO, they are always in service of a greater game and desire to 'play'. Where Mephiles is calm and composed until the moment he achieves all his goals and is always focused on the task at hand, Xenophanes is always one moment away from descending into pure raving delirium.

And I'm not really sure how to square that circle unless there's a higher order of things that even he can't subvert that pretty much forces him to play "fair". And it's not really something you could do more than once in any case.

Concept to introduce Sally Acorn in the game continuity. Opinion?

The Acorn Kingdom rose after the fall of the Echidna empire and had managed to make the people like Sonic (so the non-human characters) to live in harmony. This kingdom is now gone only some indirect reference in various legends suggest it ever exited, but Dr. Robotnik learn of an Acorn sceptre that the Acorn monarch used to rule and think he can control Sonic and all of his friends if he ever get his hand on it.

This is when some character named Sally reach for Sonic and ask him to retrieve the sceptre before Robotnik. Looking for different clue at different locations to find where it is hidden they work together to solve the mystery of its location, but Robotnik manage to get it for himself..

...Only to discover it has no power at all, as it was only symbolical. The Acorns had rose in power by picking the scrap left by the Echidna empire and uniting the islands inhabitants to live in harmony in peace through their wisdom and diplomacy, before fading and being forgotten by time. So robotnik break it in a fit of Anger and unleash his ultimate doomsday robot to Sonic.

So it look like Sally was only looking to get back an old family heirloom, but once Sonic defeat Robotnik and give her back the pieces of the sceptre, saying he is sorry it was broken, she throw them in a furnace to destroy it once and for all. The point of the Kingdom acorn was to have people live in peace and as it is the case in present time, it has no reason to be or be brought back. Her intent was always to make sure no one would ever use the name or the legacy of the Acorn family to try and rise to power.

and just like That Sally get to become a normal girl.
