Reality has run amok! But what’s the cause? A very chaotic echidna messing around in the past. But how does that affect the Freedom Fighters right after freeing the robians? Your guess is as good as mine! And when they get back, the Acorn family gets another shakeup and Sally drifts away from Sonic but this time it’s of her own volition. And after that we get two full issues of Gallagher giving us an alternate future and more Downunda Freedom Fighters!

That's not a high bar.
Prime's universes are generic (outside of maybe New Yolk, and the only really interesting take is Nine since he plays off Tails' backstory, essentially being Bad Future Tails).
Outside of the OVA timeline, these feel like the results of tweaks to the story/What-Ifs.

They are okay. Their designs are fantastic thanks to Spaz and they work as world building so it's fine that there are other FF groups, and I do like that they are a bit more cut throat in their approach compared to the other teams. They are the most fleshed out of the other FF groups (walt is the leader and he carries bombs, barby is a a rouge/assassin, stu is the youngest and good at digging, guru a pacifist but can get dirty if need be) but at the same time their actual group dynamic is a bit hard to define. They work better as extra allies for the FFs or Chaotix rather than carrying their own story, though.

Every character has their own flaws and obvious mistakes they'd make because of it. Sonic can do stuff without thinking or being too reckless. A lot of times he's right but if he's not right then it can lead to a major fuckup. There are different kinds of Sallys. There's the Gallagher/DeCesare Sally, there's the Penders Sally, and there's the Bollers Sally. Personally I prefer the Ian Sally. Each one has their own faults. Ian Sally loses to X factor surprises. Gallagher Sally is mildly competent, sometimes tsundere, and relies on Sonic to save the day. Penders Sally is a woman therefore makes mistakes because of her emotions but thankfully Max and Geoffrey are there to minimize her shortcomings. Bollers Sally is very submissive and full of insecurities.

Walt is absolutely cutie, so is Guru and Bill, so I'm definitely invested on the team. Them and Arctic FFs are the two worldwide groups I like most for their simplicity but otherwise easily recognizable selves and designs. In essence, Rotor would find his dad tragic and feel as he should open up his emotions some more, and Tundra in turn would not just have a newfound respect for him, but go through self-realization and change his mind on might being everything. It's one intriguing way to visualize a father and son troubling relationship, to say the least: both overcoming their struggles thanks to another and soon reconciling themselves to one.

Likely not really what would happen, but definitely a good way to go about it, portraying about parents you might had not a good time a while ago, but now they have mellowed out and since then end up loving you double.
