Frenzy is obsessed with having fun and playing around, which would likely cause IDW to get along with him too well since his actions perfectly embody his MUH FREEDOM nonsense and where it leads. But Frenzy Sonic doesn't really seem to have the same obsession with redemption that IDW Sonic has, so there'd never be any worry or care about trying to get villains to turn over a new leaf - he just wants good fights and adventures.

So, Frenzy Sonic actually has the best relationship with IDWnic. For good or ill.

Sonic can't fix her even if he watches all of Starline's vlogs
Kit has the same problem
Surge doesn't care that he cares about her
Tails got through to Kit because Tails wasn't in the programming
Starline ruined lives
Sonic did nothing wrong

You're entitled to your interpretation. I haven't read past #51 and am waiting for the next ride because of how "Find out what happens next issue!" IDW is. I'm hoping they treat her with more respect than gay duck's termination or Whisper/Tangle veering too much into third wheel problems.

Even though Surge is perma-fucked, the point she raised about IDW!Sonic making a big deal about letting people off the hook and it indirectly ruining people’s lives wasn’t exactly untrue. And it’s a point that keeps getting told to Sonic in one way or another through various characters.

He supposedly stopped feeling bad about it after the pep talk from Tangle in the Metal Virus arc, but IDK, out-of-universe it seems IDW is setting it up to culminate on something. It’s weird that the confrontation with the point expressed as clear as possible is the one that has Sonic drawn like a WAKU WAKU villain every other frame.

IDW Sonic is essentially what happens when you take the "freedom" shit too far. He's basically incapable of seeing how his obsession with letting people do whatever (as a reflection of his own philosophy) hurts not only everyone around him, but the world as a whole, and his unflinching need to try and redeem even the likes of Eggman or Starline pretty much leads to him stopping anyone from effectively enforcing consequences onto any of the villains. He's even entirely willing to let mass murderers like Metal go or let the Zeti safely return to Lost Hex, despite KNOWING that they'll just escape to try and kill everyone again.

Letting Metal go is probably the dumbest thing I've ever seen any Sonic do. It's about as bad as Archie Sonic and the gang leaving Eggman with Snively after he had a meltdown. There was virtually no reason for Sonic to even think Metal was going to reform. He just tried to kill everyone. And he went straight to Eggman and set off the Metal Virus thing.

I am so sick and tired of outside game Sonic media portraying Sonic is just an asshole. Yes Sonic can be a bit arrogant and egotistical and he can even make fun of his friends from time to time, but he does genuinely care and appreciates them. When you emphasize Sonic's bad qualities and remove any of his good ones not only will the audience not tolerate him, but they'll also be wondering why anyone in universe does. Which is why I really like movie Sonic because even though he has flaws genuinely feels like a good person.
