>contI'm going to be frank here: Penders is 65 years old, and has about 10 years left based on the life expectancy of an American male. At his current rate of production, it is unlikely he will live long enough to finish TLSC. His professional legacy has always been his work on Knuckles and he's not even going to bother giving him a satisfying conclusion to his story. Even Tommy Turtle got a proper sendoff.
I'd like to contrast this with Nigel Kitching and Nigel Dobbyn, who came back in 2018 to do a final story for Sonic the Comic where they gave a heartfelt and beautiful end to a comic they worked on all those years ago. They did this completely pro bono, in a fan continuation of a comic that stopped printing new stories in 2000, all so that their fans could have closure. They collaborated with fanartist Michael Corker to complete this, and have been nothing but courteous and kind to their fans in general.
