>>141018043That doesn't dispute the fact that Sally's character is very inconsistent early on and the writers have rendered her to a useless crybaby at this current point in the story.
What I would have loved is see Sally fully embrace the monarchy in her earlier years, lead the Freedom Fighters and the remnants of the Kingdom of Acorn as the princess until her Father returns.
Her Father goes insane, acts as a tyrant. Sally thinks back about how this much power at the top was one of the main reasons of why Robotnik took over to begin with.
She questions more about this form of governance and questions the will of the piss pool.
Learns the truth about other tyrants in the past and the results of their rule (King George is a prime example).
She realizes that the past decisions of the monarchy led to much instability and conflict between Mobians which was also technically one of the things that spawned the current war with Robotnik.
There are many Mobian peoples that hate the crown and for good reason. The Great War before Robotnik's War shows how many Mobians even went to side with the Overlanders/Humans.
When her father tries to get innocent people killed, forces her to go into the piss pool, and after she has all of these realizations she decides that enough is enough and has her father locked up, with the intention of dissolving the kingdom after the war is over.
Destroys the piss pool.
She now leads the people of Acorn and her strength is tested again as she has to continue to watch Sonic almost die over and over again. But she presses on and leads.
Way more interesting and in character.
The younger Sally with dreams of a fair, good kingdom for everyone to prosper in.
The teen Sally who becomes disillusioned.
The early adult Sally who grows past the ways of the monarchy and gives power back to the people, has the weight of everyone on her shoulders, and does not abandon her duty no matter how much it hurts.
