Knuckles's series wasn't entirely awful and most of the plots were particularly interesting (particularly Knuckles rediscovering Echidnapolis, the stuff with the LSD drug bust, and most of the stuff involving Knux and Julie-Su's relationship development), though the Brotherhood of Echidnas Who Don't Do Anything is definitely a distraction, and the whole election and nazi poetry stuff was actually hard to keep up with and confusing. This whole thing with Monk and the hunter dude isn't AS bad as the aforementioned arc, but it felt disorganized--Monk and the hunter feel like two plotlines colliding into each other and making a car wreck of story beats, and the Brotherhood is even lamer than usual since contrived writing conveniently makes them miss the GUARDIAN OF THE ISLAND being hunted down by a sociopathic overlander who KILLS MOBIANS FOR SPORT (of course, even if they did see the events go down Penders would probably make them be like "oh Knuckles is a big boy he can get out of this situation by himself just fine" so what do I know.)
Overall a weak ending to the Knuckles series and it's unfortunate that everything with Ken is starting to noticeably deteriorate here. At least seeing how they had to cram Adventure into the Sonic comic series will be interesting tomorrow

The Knuckles comic was a clusterfuck. I'm sure tons of kids loved it, but enough were smart enough to stop buying them, so sales plummeted. Also, barring a connection here and there, it pretty much existed in its own bubble. You could read the main comic and make due fine without it. Sonic X, as a property, had way more impact on the larger fandom than the Knuckles comic had when it was running. The anime continued to run on Saturday morning blocks long after the series ended, maintaining it's popularity. Plus, you gotta remember. Sonic X was as close as fans got to a sega!Sonic cartoon. And since the comic reduced Chris' role and made Sonic more proactive in plots, you could jump from the games to it without missing a beat. If you tried that with the main series, you'd be totally lost.

Honestly, if it weren't for the rights issues concerning the series, the X comic would've probably gone on for another year or two.

He pretends to believe that he hurt Sega and his settlement out of court was a win for writers and artists but that is not the case and the only people who lost in the end were the fans and he knows it, and yet rejoices his “win” after the fact. This did NOTHING to Sega and arguably Archie as well. Archie Sonic had an ending coming up anyway, sometime after the planned Metal Virus arc. Whether or not those comics continued or not didn’t really impact Archie’s existence.


Hurting the fans and gleefully alienating them in the years after the shit he pulled is unforgivable and I am so glad that no one is ever going to hire his ass ever again. His legacy has ended as a giant shart in the wind, never to become anything of worth. Good riddance.

Also, Archie could've fought it out more and likely would have won with the paper copy versions of the contract had they pushed more, but they got cold feet. Probably to keep up appearances.
