Sonic and the Freedom Fighters Note: Ian Flynn, the main writer for Archie Sonic, said something about Sally and Nicole possibly being a couple after the reboot. It never happened though. Since romance involving Sonic characters not originating from the Archie comics was prohibited by Sega, that meant Sonic and Sally couldn’t be a couple anymore. So why not pair your waifu with her really good friend? I have no intention of breaking up Sonic and Sally (they can still have fights) but that doesn’t mean Sally wouldn’t raise an eyebrow at the same girls Sonic might glance at.

I feel kinda stupid arguing with that one infamous butt hurt Tails fan last thread, it's funny cause I actually quite like Tails as a character but the fandom around him is painful
To clarify, the reason this aggressive reference and pun humor was perfectly fine when Gallagher did it, is because those issues were written with a Looney Tunes style pisstake tone. Obviously, the tone has shifted to become slightly more grounded. These kind of jokes feel a bit forced as a result.

I'm still figuring how to handle the parent situation but I'm leaning to his mother being Rosemary who is single and very reasonably bitter to the Acorn Nation, wether she is a good parent who cares for Tails or is using him to further her own motives I've not decided. Tails himself is his usually tech interested self but a part of him wants to grow more self reliant which may look up for him when he and Longclaw run amuck of the Battle bird Armada and he manages to get a vicious rivalry with Speedy while possibly also running afoul of the Babylon Rogues getting dragged in despite not being a part of the Armada, so very much gonna be an underdog story though he can fight well and keep up with Sonic. Also he'll have to hang in downunda for a bit since figuring will pair him with Barby, though tempted to hook him with Fiona. to be honest will have to start fleshing out ideas and profiles once comm pics that can upload on main account while figuring out how to have his friendship with Sonic highlighted but not neuter his character and give him foes or rivals of his own with no interest in dealing with Blue hedhehogs

Then after the comic is dead, Ian says "see these two sisterly best friends? They're fucking now" AFTER the comic is dead. So it just doesnt feel genuine there. Legit feels like doing it for brownie points there.

Okay this has always bothered me. If Nicole is from the future, and gets sent back to the past, then why isn't she ever seen in the actual future stories? From her perspective, she should've looped back around. Does she spend some time in standby until future Rotor creates her to prevent a paradox?

>>139887473 Sonic has always been a hodgepodge of outside references, and it works here because they're done for quick gags and stupid bits. It's a comedy book atm, of course these references and fourth wall breaks are everywhere. It's the same reason Sonic Boom is positively received, because it KNOWS what it wanted to be.
Once the book starts to get serious though, Pender's references quickly become grating and obnoxious just like Ians. Ian's current output sucks because he's just shoehorning in references right next to lazily done melodrama.
