Ian made Silver fail at the traitor thing like five times so he could have a redemption arc in Secret Freedom. The traitor storyline was really dumb because Archie Silver had the power to just show Sonic the bad future and make him realize he was telling the truth and that shit will be fucked if he didn't find the traitor. (Who in the end wasn't even really a traitor)

In 06 Silver only failed to kill Sonic due to outside interference with the second time making him realize his mission was bullshit and in Rivals 1 & 2 Silver accomplishes his missions in a day each. He's bad at explaining himself but he could get a job done.

Silver did pretty much nothing in the 2010's besides get beat the fuck up by Sonic and Infinite before the babyfication in IDW and English TSR happened. That and the fandub have really cemented him as a bumbling twink which I'd actually be okay with if they gave him a boyfriend already instead of attaching fag hags to him.
