I was here when it was first done, yes. It was great fun - especially since I hadn't truly read it before.

>Sonic and the Freedom Fighters Note: The gloves that Tails wears were meant to give the Freedom Fighters a mobile computer since Nicole wasn’t around. It also means he’ll never need to make the Miles Electric (tablets are so five years ago). Him generating energy tools like the wrench is one of many things he can create. The wrench is something I took from Sonic Boom where Tails started off without a weapon but was later given a wrench to use in fights. There are other tools that the gloves can make. There was going to be a fight in the Sonic CD arc and Tails would get to showcase another use but there wasn’t enough time for that. But the payoff will be in the Sonic 2 arc. It’ll also show that Tails has some inspiration from somewhere that can’t be explained.

They're technically canon. Some of the newer Sonic models very clearly have nails shown through the outline of his gloves (they're the most apparent in Smash 4 and Ultimate). The Werehog has sharp nails instead of claws.

Boasting is how Sonic normally is. Sonic in the Idol AU is full-blown "passive-aggressive asshole" mode. I'm pretty certain he helped her less out of moral obligation or concern for her well being and more because he's so bored her almost falling was the closest thing he had to entertainment in a while.

Compare how he acts with Amy to how he treats Shadow. Vastly different responses and personalities presented to both.

Prime is easily one of the biggest disappointments in the entire franchise. And that's including 06. They clearly wanted in on the multiverse craze, but didn't have the balls to actually go full Spider-Verse, with the various IP iterations interacting. Considering Shadow had so many mandates that he couldn't have different versions of him I'd say that all of those would break a few mandates or more. So the writers had to settle for themes for every world.
