Sonic gets name dropped a lot despite not being in this comic. There are other comics with these characters and Sonic is in that one. There's also another comic with Shadow and others meeting Pewter so I guess that older one isn't "canon" anymore.

Exactly! Unlike Sonic and friends they have a well resourced base to operate out of and lots of opportunities to use cool new gadgets and guns. They could also have GUN radio in with intel or airdrop supplies during missions, which would be so cool.
Iizuka's such an odd person. Shadow's his favorite character, but he only likes him with no personality, friends, or history. Strip all that away and you just have an edgy Sonic recolor. I just don't get why he wants Shadow to be the most boring character. Even the Mayor in Boom has more character, friends, and a backstory than Shadow does now

It's a simple, practical, believable set up. Tower has some shit that needs looking at, or taking, or shooting. So he calls in Team Dark, who look at a thing, take it, and possibly shoot it.
Or there's some bullshit going on in GUN, because they're a bunch of goddamned Glowies, so Team Dark has to take sides and do a bunch of shooting. That's more "end of season 2" type stuff though.

They are. I wouldn't say Evan has a foot fetish but she likes drawing feet. That seems to be something a lot of female artists have in common. Makes sense since women look at a person's feet. You get judged by your shoes more than anything else.
