Sonic could neither control nor contest this, because 1) it was all but outright a royal decree and again, Archie Sonic is immensely loyal to the kingdom and the crown, and adding the risk of defying Max on top of that? And 2) as far as he was aware (which was very minimally), it was something so far off it wasnt even worth mentioning - he didnt even know that it was getting pushed forward until Bunnie came crying about it to him around issue 136. Not what I said. I am talking about reacting to each other. Sonic and Sally being able to react to each other's wit and exchange banters is not "complete opposite" and being able to give some humble pie to your partner from time to time isn't either.

Here is the things, Archie's writer clearly had some difficulties too to figure a good chemistry between Sally and Shadow, even if it was a different version of Shadow, because, when they were King and Queen, the best they could do was having them being in a diplomatic marriage while being completely dispassionate for each other, in 30YL, they just couldn't make it works and it was empty.

I have been trying to have for a while a good Shadow/sally dynamic, (not even a romantic one) in a story, and I am hitting the same roadblock. I can't get any interesting interactions between the two. The comics in Today's thread had to have Sally be out of characters (messing with their friend's head is more of a Rouge thing) and have Shadow be forced to be on guard duty of a Sally who act more like a needy princess who want to go out to have fun.

The closest I have come to an interesting story that would actually work in respect for the two characters I could manage to imagine is a setting where they have to be on a mission together, with Shadow under Sally's order, where it is revealed that Shadow has always disdained Sally because he think she consider Sonic the same way GUN would be treating him t the time: as a weapon to use and order around.

It would take a few mishaps during their mission for Shadow to discover there can be different kind of leadership and that sally do not see her team as paws, but as friend, as well as for sally to discover that some middle management at GUN has been taking advantage of Shadow's personal guilt to over-use him for different gey-ops while taking all the credits and stand up for him and cease this shit went they come back, then leading to the official instalment of Team Dark.

I've read (almost) all of Fleetway, which is why I'm pretty consistent in pointing out that Fleetway Sonic is a major asshole to his friends 99% of the time whenever these arguments/shitposts start up. Even his compliments are often heavyhanded or need excessive effort to wring from him. And when he gets stuck in the Special Zone for a while and everyone else needs to pick up from where he left off, they're noticeably better off and more cohesive as a team.

it's funny you mention that film as did watch it a while ago with mum, Tim Curry was superb and film reminded me of Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, right down to Michael Wincott as the main villains right hand, though he's certainly more badass in Musketeers. Adding AO3 probably won't have too much of an impact. Sonamy and Sonadow still MOG everything else, with maybe Sonaze and Sonally getting a slight boost. Sonadow gets a pretty decent boost in terms of stuff, but still falls behind the sheer amount of Sonamy. Sonknux does get a bit more, so I guess Thirstposter has a little consolation prize.
