Side note, hope I am not too pedant, there, I don't know if they used to said it like that in the comic, but in French, it's "Ma chérie" with an "e" at the end of "chérie" for the féminine form. Possessive determinant in French work differently than in English. It's not gendered according to the owner, but according the word it determine itself. And certain words have gendered alterations. If the "Chéri" is a man, it's without "e" at the end, it's a masculine word, so it's "mon chéri". If the "Chérie" is a woman, it needs a "e" at the end, which make it a feminine word, so it's "ma Chérie".
If Bunnie ever call Antoine "Chéri", she will say "Mon Chéri", because the Chéri is Antoine, Antoine is male, so the determinant and word have to take a masculine form. And when Antoine call Bunnie "Chérie", he will say "ma Chérie", because the Chérie is Bunnie, Bunnie is female, so the determinant and word have to take a feminine form.
Sorry if you knew all this already and it was just a typo from you.
To conclude, in case some here didn't know "ma chérie/mon chéri" means "the one I cherish".
