Justin was a lousy editor who most certainly didn't ever supervised over Penders' output to the comic. One might as theorize Justin is the main culprit behind The Slap, having butt in the slap detail itself.

Whilst your view on Tommy is understandable, I can't say I relate, mostly as I'm zoomer, so I couldn't have been able to catch up Archie back, unlike you. Reading the issues involving Tommy, I could see how come he was despised, but my sentiment over the turtle is still just as warm. Maybe he would've sufficed really as great Rotor love partner, assuming Cobar weren't on the duty yet. I like his role as an long lost mysterious Sonic friend, acting as a lending point for Sonic to keep going and seek for him, more or less as how Tommy's introduction story issued in.

Otherwise, yeah, ideally as one-off, he should've remained fallen. Curiously enough, Shadow suffers about the same writing problems as Tommy, when you ponder about it.

And just as coincidentally, I have been fantasizing exactly about that between them. Yeah, you could make a lovey-dovey story of Cobar passage from Echidnapolis to Mobotropolis, meeting up and bonding deeply with Rotor. On the guarantee it's set on present and written as honestly, course, since the attempt on MXXYL was a cop-out move.
Between us though, I do agree Rotor can do better. If you ask me, I would just pair him straight off with Larry Lynx, or Augustus. Looking forward for your approximate dubious reaction and scratching head.
