Today we have a double feature! No breaks! Let’s start with a series aiming to reboot the Archie comics while merging various continuities and making changes. The Freedom Fighters have been fighting Eggman for years but he’s not hanging out in Robotropolis (because it doesn’t exist). He’s been a very active and roaming threat! Now his main headquarters has been discovered and it’s time to shut him down! This is issue one of Sonic and the Freedom Fighters!

I like when it try to fit in the actual continuity. Beside, if it's a reboot, I tend to consider it as a new series on its own, just heavily inspired by an existing one.

It's most fanfics to be honest. It's why I'm not keen on them in general. People just project whatever the fuck onto some other art. Especially with sonic where it's all turbo autism and the original has no clear identity
