Honestly, the fact that people keep finding loopholes to write humorous scenes with Shadow and SoJ doesn't do anything about it is what gets to me. That kind of loophole usage is the type of shit you get away with then the one imposing the rules is as impersonal and detached from the writing process as humanly possible (to the point they even feel robotic), not a person or a group so invested in a character's personality that frequently showers staff members with detailed guidelines and restrictions.

I'm not sure if I'm putting my point across in a way that makes sense. What I mean is that it's super fucking weird to be so fucking anal about a certain characterization and then simultaneously be detached enough to let writers get away with loopholes that are very blatantly breaking the rules you set in place. It feels less like they care about how Shadow is portrayed and more that they just care about being able to boss people around.
