I personally prefer the way Okida did this plot. Just a common lovers misunderstanding that gets settled so that Mobius has a force to oppose Robotnik just fits better, in my opinion. It's a welcome break from the bleak tone rather than adding more bleakness onto it.

Yeah they basically do literally nothing on the major scale in the end and their plotline just ends with the Don going down like any other villain. Same for Vinchama. So much on this page. For me, establishing relationships is very important. Even for Eggman. He’s got his own twisted beliefs and desires. The pursuit of scientific advancement with no morality to hold him back. And Chuck is a fellow scientist, friend, and even mentor. So of course he’ll take that even more personally. And yes, he made Sonic’s shoes. We’re starting to see other continuities seeping in. Also, the comic will go over it later but Chuck is not only very important to Sonic but also to Tails.

Sonic has a few lines on Rhea showing how it's affecting him but you have to wait hours to get even a few of them and it all builds up to a huge anticlimax anyway.

Yeah, much as I actually dig a lot his latter look, I couldn't argue against the lacking charm of. They have worried too much about making the FFs "look as actual Sonic characters", so that laid a low hit to Rotor and removed his fairly unique anatomical sumo wrestling body, the coat and the hat and other small things. Surely enough, they could have compromised and asserted a good middle point, but they didn't.

I would love to post more Rotor redesigns, but I will leave that for the next thread!
