Actually the lead developer founded Big Red Button and was tasked by Sega of America to make Sonic Sync, a more exploration-focused take on Sonic that ended up becoming Sonic Boom. Sega of Japan again fucked him over by forcing him and his team to jam the half-completed game into the Wii-U in under a year despite it being developed for Xbox and PlayStation. The fact that they released anything is a miracle

In the official comics? Never. I know some anons like to say it's just British talk but Sonic spends the first part of the comic talking shit about Tails (although Tails is an idiot in the beginning), not being around Tails for a good part of the series, and then finding out that Tails is a competent hero and even then doesn't believe it and kind of treats him like crap. One of their last stories together was when Sonic got possessed by a ghost, Tails saved him, but is unable to explain what happened to Sonic who just talks shit at him and that's the end. The only good thing is that he doesn't cuck Tails but that's just because Fleetway Sonic is asexual.
