This. And not even in Heroes I believe they ever referred to themselves as "Team Dark", outside of Rouge calling their group a team in their intro video.

Now, this doesn't mean they don't work and cooperate with each other as a unit from time to time, kind of like Sonic, Tails and Knuckles do. But, at least in the games, as far as I remember, they have never been a single unit called "Team Dark", the only real 3-men permanent team is the Chaotix, because they literally work in the same place.
