They actually work as a couple and have an excellent dynamic. What is tiring is to seeing the bullshit keeping them apart.

I dunno, saying that they shouldn't be together because the "break ups and reunification" are getting tiring feel like admitting defeat to the editorial forces keeping them apart. It's not the characters themselves who are toxic to each others.
