Sonic X #8-11 Today, we take a break from Ian’s rampant slaughter to cover a couple two-part stories of Sonic X! First up, the gang goes to Paris to properly celebrate poor Chris Thorndyke’s birthday party but Eggman is also there to steal the Thorndyke’s space shuttle! And then, something has transported Sonic and his friends to a game version of their world.
Question: What’s the ideal relationship of a tie-in comic? Should it do random stories that try not to contradict the show? Should it adapt episodes and maybe expand them? Should it only be for after the series is over and serve as a continuation?

>What’s the ideal relationship of a tie-in comic? Not an easy one. I guess it works in a limited publication style, like the Movie-comics or the prequel comics to game, but once it's long form, it's best to see it as its own universe with callback to the main media it ties to.

Honestly, since Sonic X is over and done with like other continuities, this comic should've been used to explain certain plot points like why did Earth and Sonic's World split and how Eggman got to Sonic's World when his family is from Earth and Cosmo's fate with that plant just to tie up everything in a bow.

Reminder that Emerl and Cream being introduced in the Sonic x comic made them unavailable in the Archie continuity because Sega thought fans would be confused for some reason or another. I forget the exact specification but it was really dumb.

I remember Ian mentioned he didn't know what to do with him and there were too many character to handle and his story would just be a retreat since his game already handles his character well enough, but I wasn't a fan of that excuse.
