I like both, I feel with who I ship him with mainly, that both instances can happen frequently possibly even followed up on each other. Sonic being insecure around Amy makes sense when you factor in the fact that Amy is no longer as determined to chase him down and that her love for him is all-encompassing no matter what he does. Almost all of Sonic's shamelessness doesn't really matter to her and that sets him for a loop, and her no longer actively hounding him does seem to have caused him to finally start admitting his actual feelings too.

It also depends on the Sonic. Boom obviously loves being praised, Prime is too dumb and nice to really care either way, and Modern is the one who spills his spaghetti over it.

A long, long time ago there was a comic on DA called "Shadow's Magical Quest". It was a pretty typical lolsorandom type of comic but I kept up with it religiously as a kid.
At some point in the last couple years, the creator deleted all of it off their account, and now it's gone. One random guy reuploaded this page a few months ago, but that's basically it.

It depends of how he feel about Amy, IMO. If he doesn't reciprocate the feeling, it would make sense to him that he wouldn't know how to reject her without hurting her feelings. He consider her a good friend he really care about, so not bieng able to respond to her romantic feeling is something he would have difficulty dealing with, as he is aware that being flirtatious would only result in hurting her more in the lo,ng run.
