Reading her posts, it seems she's been struggling with depression and appears to be working through it using her faith. From what I can tell, it's one of those American revivalist churches that view mental illness as the symptom of a spiritual wound that can be healed through faith. Part of that involves keeping yourself open to revelations and obeying those commands.

IIRC the comic is something like Stand Still Stay Silent. Artist got heavy into Christianity and it was at odds with the comic so she stopped it. I think she still did an ending but it was rushed and people said it was already pretty aimless in the second part anyway.
