Sonic spends the entire game when he's with Amy basically going "hey Amy, you okay? You doing good? Are you alright? Do you need me here?" etc and just generally expressing care and concern for her in the extreme. He does not do this (or at least, NOWHERE NEAR to the same degree) for Tails and Knuckles. There's a whole sequence with them where they observe two of the Ancients, who were lovers, reuniting mere moments before they get nuked. Then there's pic related.

They've pretty much confirmed it as hard as they can without literally having Sonic and Amy kissing and fucking onscreen.

Was it actually non-inteneded to set Tails Adventure before Tails met Sonic? It only is said so in the Japanese manual. And while the English manual usually simplify the story, it never really contradict what is told in the Japanese one, but here, the English manual explicitly state that tails already know Sonic. Honestly, both versions are funny to think about. In the jap version, Tails has been living in this island in the middle of fucking nowhere for who-knows-how-long and is able to take on an entire army by himself before even meeting Sonic, oh and there are chaos emeralds hidden there too.
