There was an interview with the writers and even in 2013 the mandates were bad. Shadow couldn't make any jokes which is why he was so serious and edgy. Metal was also annoying to write for and that's why both were used a couple times. Vector was the easiest to write for as long as it was just him. And they didn't bother with Big because of whatever mandates were attached to him. The writers said it was just better to use their own characters which is why the villagers got more usage and personality traits. I can only hope things have loosened up for the Sonic Prime show.

Knuckles just needs to come to the realization that he's ultimately not getting anything out of guarding the Master Emerald. His people are gone, so even if he's doing it for the sake of his "sacred duty" and honoring their memory, there's nobody to notice or care. Then there's the fact that every villain who's aware of the damn thing wants to steal it for their own purposes, and even Rouge only drops by to try and carry it off (and flirt with him), so he's constantly on edge guarding it from would-be attackers. Finally, there's the fact that it's basically deadened him to the plight of the world itself - the Master Emerald takes priority even when logically, if the planet gets destroyed, it goies down along with it.

I think the only thing they lose from destroying it is the fact that it exists as a check against the power of the Chaos Emeralds. But given that Sega apparently no longer considers the Master Emerald as having any special powers, even THAT might no longer be true. And if Knuckles really insists on keeping it around, then he can just shrink it and lug it around.

STC is easily the most consistent comic we've done. Helps that Okida treats it as more than a hobby. With a lot of artists their attention comes and goes and something might keep them from continuing.

Okida really does dedicate himself to whatever comic he does. Even Sonic Unbound, with many parts of it missing or not adapted from the text version, still shows immense levels of dedication. He just couldn't complete it because the scope of said story was just too grand.

Here though, not only is it still pretty massive, but it shows how far Okida has come.

Definitely respectable work ethic. Not only does he keep STC going, there's the occasional Turtle Power page and there's also that original comic that I've never checked out. I really do wish more comics were like that consistent. I think Eclipse is another that puts out pages often enough. Sonic Frenzy goes from not putting out pages for a while to putting out several in a week or two. ASO puts out an issue every 3-4 months. I wonder when Scourge Eternal Blackout will continue again and Glitcher said the next page was going to run late but that was weeks ago.

After Droid Sonic AU seemingly getting dropped, I stopped bothering with anything else. For the longest time I thought the colorist was the bottleneck but now I'm thinking there's just no more pages of Sonic Future for the colorist to color.

Bean flipflops back-and-forth between AU's so severely that they almost certainly suffer from one of the worst cases of ADHD I've seen in this fandom. And this is just with their current output; they have DOZENS of AU's on their old Deviantart (and probably elsewhere) that got dropped or just stopped updating. Even Sacred's new comic stopped updating too.

Like, I can get having a ton of ideas for alternate continuities or AU's - I have a bunch myself. But sometimes, you just need to focus on one and develop that instead of trying to do 1000+ different things at once.
