Where are you getting this from? If anything, he's the exact fucking opposite. His entire backstory is about him being best friends with Maria and literally every non-evil route of StH is about him learning to trust and have faith in others again.

Now you are literally just making shit up. There are multiple games and pieces of official media showing that Rouge gives a damn. She is not a needlessly malicious or necessarily "shallow" person. Once again, StH LITERALLY has her preventing Omega and Shadow from killing each other and working alongside them for no greater benefit to herself. Sonic Heroes has much the same.

If Shadow was as one-note and utterly incapable of affection as you think he is, he never weould have reclaimed his true memories and would have either killed the Earth as Gerald wanted him to do or let the Black Arms eat the planet. He clearly didn't do either of those things because the entire crux of his character and narrative arc was about empathizing and coming to care for all the people around him.
