Hey, gonna personally apologize for not showing up to read this, so allow me to at least con tribute this with a bump

So far, I think this second half of the book more than the first.

I didn't really like Tempest's inclusion. I understand WHY she was there - Sonic needs someone to talk to during the long stretch of Sonic 1. But I didn't think it needed to be an OC that was Sonic's equal who just stole his wallet and suddenly BAM, she's the co-lead. Maybe a Flicky instead.

I had equal problems with Omlette being introduced, but given what the writers where planning for the rest of the cast, I kinda understand where they where going.


Also I feel the dialouge is not as snappy as other comics. Too wordy & jokes don't land.

But I do love the interesting twists & integrations on all the zones, lore and characters. This second half especially got me happy:

Tekno + Military Tomboy Swordgirl Sally *chef's kiss*

And to cap it off with such a fantastic origin for Dr. Eggman, with an actual reasonable reason for Eggman to be a villain (a sympathetic one at that) AND dumps a lot of connections and lore on us!

Sonic Legacy in a way is everything I wanted from IDW Sonic - taking the Ultimate/TMNT approach in remixing the old to make something new.

I get asking them. I don't get making very long ones. This is coming from experience making comics. There's no sense in making an endless brand based adventure as anything more than a freetime sink. The people who go to these lengths and set up endless stories always crash after a while and end up restricted by the confines of the brand itself.

IE, "I draw one page of this every few months my whole life," makes sense, "I made a short story, maybe I'll do another," is reasonable, "here's my epic, issue 14 in October" is self-defeating. You're ensured to miss opportunities and have less fun and less to shoe for it.

Seeing some new faces, seeing some old faces, and the comic itself really pics up.
