Archie wanted to focus on properties they owned instead of licensing because of their own incompetence and fear of a repeat of Penders' inflated ego. Mega Man also sold worse than both Sonic titles so they saw it as less of a loss and didn't come back from its own hiatus unlike Sonic did.

>Jokes aside, I came to really enjoy Shard and Larry’s dynamic during the S.f.f arc in Sonic Universe. I like ships where one of the characters is out going and snarky while is other is more clumsy and nervous, so inevitably I ended up shipping them xd Plus, it was also cute to see how Shard defended Larry when Silver started questioning why bring him to the mission. Even if we didn’t get to see more interactions with them, is pretty clear that they are close and care about each other.

Him just being Eggman's descendant at least makes him be more palpable and easier to work with. I do agree he is kinda boring in the context of being Blaze's adversary, but that was only because he only got to be that for two games and hasn't been connected to her since.

I now rememeber how IDW had a story where Blaze dropped everything to nanny Silver, and the comic going all tell to tell us how with getting sonic to say how totally "great" they are as a pairing and friends. Cannot believe that actually happened.

The Sol dimension hasn't really been delved into or fleshed out since Rush Adventure and even the comics only use the ground work the games gave it. Though do agree the games have given nothing about Silver's time and how it contrasts to the current setting, honestly his character role is highly specific to his detriment

Silver being so much of a knockoff Trunks reminds me that Sonic is sort of a case study of how trying to have inspired/derivative elements without actually understanding why they worked just ends up producing a horribly mediocre result

They have to break all sensible laws of cause and effect so he can keep coming back to fix things. He's not even from the subsequent future timelines. Just have him live in Sonic's time and be done with the time travel.
>>142583313 It's fine, never reaches truly high heights but it's a fine enough rag. It's mostly because it continues on from the end of Forces, which is a pretty stifling stage for comic story. For starters the Metal Virus arc went WAY too long and was WAY too melodramatic, to then just be fixed via Sonic/Silver going super again (which is like the "get out of jail free card" for any Sonic story really.) I do like the spinoffs mainly though, which basically act like Sonic Universe in spirit. Besides the current running Nack story which took over the main book for a bit which is super middling/safe.
