Nobody seriously expects Sonic to ice Eggman but it’s lame as fuck that Sonic just lets him walk away in nearly every IDW story. In the games Eggman usually gets caught in explosions caused by Sonic destroying his shit only to inexplicably survive. Even in the Pontaff-era Sonic leaves Eggman for dead only for him to survive with little explanation the next game. Doing the whole Batman and Joker thing with Sonic and Eggman doesn’t work. If this was any other version of Eggman I would've agreed but Archie Eggman went way beyond any others. I'm aware they can't just kill their main villain like that so all they should've done is just not give him an opportunity to get caught.
