Ian does a little more cleaning up. First up, Rouge needs protection (no, not that kind) and she’s willing to come clean about her past. But what about Fiona’s past? And then, the story Penders quit over! King Sonic went to the past to save his future and what does he have to show for it? A world where Shadow is married to Sally and rules the world with an iron fist. And to make things worse, this new future doesn’t know who Sonic is! Except for a handful of people. And then, an issue of Sonic X!

Question: Sonic X only threads will have to have 5-6 issues each but should I still throw in an issue in other threads like this whenever possible? An issue of Sonic X a day keeps an entire thread of it away for a bit longer.

I don’t have a problem with evil King Shadow in theory but the way it was told was very poor. Ideally we would have some kind of exposition on how Shadow fell so low but we get nothing of the sort, one day Shadow conquered the entire world and decided to be a dick for no reason. He’s a one dimensional mustache twirling villain too which is really lame. Ian’s future Mobius is kind of on the opposite spectrum of Penders’s. Shit happens way too fucking fast and the reader gets no time to get invested in this new world.

Apparently according to different accounts from Ian and Axer, this was an inventory story that was heavily edited. It could fit into after Home, but before RtAI since Charmy and Saffron aren't included in this story. Chacon's original script was shelved and Ian made new dialog to fill in the word bubbles.
Axer mentioned that he didn't like that his original pencils weren't the same so he wasn't a fan of the story (he said he was glad he quit archie as well, so you can only imagine how Gabrie was handling management of the book at the time). Axer was long gone from archie at this point, so it was weird he was even here to being with.

I think it's because in the comics, they look like ass because they look like flames with a lame flat green gradient
The Sonic Battle art looks cool because the jagged style and warmer mix of tones makes it look more crackly and electrifying (and you can especially see that his hand/the base of the energy is the brightest part), on top of making for some good contrast with Shadow's black and red color scheme
