So later, Ian would write a proper finale for the Chosen One prophecy, and also bring back Mammoth Mogul, rendering this story pointless to the overall plot. I want you all you anons reading this today to understand that this was built up for more than 10 years. 10. Years. An entire decade of this shit. children turning into adults. Puppies being born and dying of old age.
Ten years of Tails being relegated to the sidelines as "the little kid". Never allowed to tag along. Never allowed to fight. Never allowed to be smart. An entire decade of watching Sonic, Knuckles and their Donut Steel friends have all the adventures, all the spotlight and all the importance while Tails is placated with the vague promise of an oncoming "Destiny". A single moment when he'll be a bigger hero than all of them combined. He just needs to hang in there for 10 Years as the eternal nobody and one day he'll be the star of the whole fucking show. He'll get his Destiny.
Well Ten Years passed. Tails Waited. Ten Years of being ignored and passed over as a glorified NPC all leading to this. His Destiny. And noone's ignoring him anymore, no. Now they're laughing at him Anal-Voring a Mammoth for half a page thanks to a "powerup" that turns him into a ridiculous Johnny Bravo with a pinhead, that isn't even his own form and that he can never repeat, and then everyone forgetting it ever happened so he can return to being the useless loser who nobody respects And then Sonic cucked him.

I just take it as being like that one random bit of lore that the Master Emerald is a multiversal constant and is the same one in every timeline simultaneously.
