>>137222064>>137222069From what I have been able to see (not from the Sonic fandom specifically, but the artist socio-spehere in general), most creators aren't really envious or dishing on the successful ones, unless the successful person in question is really a douche and even then they still recognise the talents.
The ones who cope an seethe are usually people who are mostly in the game for the fame and money and think art is just a way to get there. thye are more interested in being part of the in-group of the current group of popular (e-)celeb friends, because they think it's the key to success rather than working on their own art. and they complain about them thinking too high of themselves when they won't be let in. See all the complain about "breadtube", for example.
Little piece of advice about that: networking IS important, but not the way you might think of. Trying to become part of the circle of an already successful group will almost always be seen as the grift that it is.
Most of those groups became friends when they were still nobodies supporting and giving advices to each other or just goofing around for the fun of it. The networking that matter is the one you make among your peer when you are still developing.
That kind of relations is much more solid and helpful than some already big shot giving you some spotlight (not that it won't help either, but it's not what will be the most reliable). People that actually know you and that you know you can rely on, because you made a part of the journey together when it was still hardship. Those are solid networking you can rely on.
