Man, this was actually a great adaptation of the videogame series. Probably the best there was. Some recent it because of how it lead to the reboot, but this comic series is as much a victim of the Archie editorial fuck up as the Archie Sonic comic.

I consider it adjacent due to the crossover. Yeah, it has it's own thing going on but it's very important to the Archie Sonic story. Also it's hilarious to thinking that Capcom is actually officially canon to 3 different companies/series via their crossovers. Double funny to think that Wily is one of the very few people Archie Eggman genuinely liked.

Yeah, Archie has a number of Mobians who don't wear shoes and it's not seen as much of a big deal. Lacking gloves might be a bigger taboo since almost nobody goes without them.

It might even be that you can have one or the other not being on your person, but going around not having either outside of sexy times is the big weird thing for them.
