Reposting for new thread.

The first Penders story in the 150s was acutally decent. An easy explanation for what the hell happened to Antoine that gives just as easy a way to restore his old character, and not-yet-Scourge managing to make the otherwise stupid harem comedy direction work by having him do what Sonic would never do by flirting with all the girls. Only downside is Locke being obnoxiously overpowered and getting away with flirting with Rouge when it would've been way better if she humiliated him.
Shame that 150 also starts with the infamous huge letdown and disposal of the Chosen One Tails and Mammoth Mogul storylines by just recycling Night of 1000 Sonics - which was only recapped by Penders in 148 as Gabrie ended up the sad sack having to kill Gallagher's decade-old baby.

Also what do you all think The Pendering was? I've seen no consistent answer for what it is.

The things GUN did 50 years ago was awful, but the stuff in SA2 and StH was done under Tower. He genuinely thought Shadow was responsible for killing his friend Maria and massacring the colonists. He scapegoated Sonic so as not to cause a panic and things like the GUN truck were part of his "by any means necessary" approach to stop Shadow. They make peace in the postgame content of StH and agree to work together to fulfill Maria's wish

It'd make sense if Max was sick at that point but both parents were in perfect health. I do know Max gets sick around that time but he was at least healthy during The Slap. It's like any other story where the hero gives up being a hero but in this case that hero tries dragging someone else with them. If Sally simply broke things off amicably and stayed at the castle then that wouldn't be so bad but the intent was to make it as dramatic as possible. It worked. Bollers regretted it but did the editors? I wonder if it impacted the sales.
