This was probably one of the best comics we've had.
Great art even after what seemed to be a tech change/rush job and then an artist change.
Script was 10/10. Even if it made me want to close the tab, that was because of how good it was at being heavy. I can't remember the last time something made me want to change the channel for a reason other than a bad one, like being fetish tier gory or stupid or having terrible acting or shit art/animation or deciding IRL politics > story or story decisions being a product of modern politics fucking the artist in the head or having really bad budget limitations.
Honestly felt more adult/professional/engaging than a lot of fiction I've seen or read the past half a decade, and more than a comic has any right to be. And when I say adult I mean of highest quality and respecting the medium, not Rick & Morty, like the traditional art on the side of old liquor brands versus MSPaint modern ones.
It feels like the stuff I'd obsess over as a kid and think is really important and tell my parents all about, even if it was something stupid or dumb. I thought that was impossible to feel after puberty.
I don't want to be a downer but it makes the glut of Spongebob and other recognisable joke plagiarism the internet's been chugging for a decade now feel like cheap beer diluted with air. And I don't want to think my favourite one dimensional Sonadow comics are bad!

Was SATAM/Archie anything like this or just another kids cartoon/comic? I never watched that channel playlist when the Conductor said time to brush up before we did one of the continuation comics.

Sonic and the Freedom Fighters can never catch a break and almost loose everything so many times. It managed to keep it balanced though so its never gets too depressing or gloomy.
