I like Tangle and Jewel, but I would be nowhere near as excited to see them land a W streak like this as Elias or Antoine or any of the Freedom Fighters. This is fanon so all cards are obviously off, but the stakes in Archie comics actually felt real, like the non game characters could just get totally fucked at any second. And obviously for most of them there's 20 years of attachment. It's impossible to just wave away 20 years of character and world building and act like the boring shit we've been getting in IDW even holds a candle to it.

I feel the same way. Seems weird to have a Sonic continuation and then put in stuff like Eggman ripping Sally apart until she almost dies, force her to give him a sponge bath, have her kill her father, and now she's nonfunctioning because she's completely broken down from the trauma. There's also the torn apart and operated on dead echidna girl. I also found the echidna stuff to be not as compelling as Endangered Species has progressed for ASO. If you haven't read it, I recommend Heroes Come Back.

Stripes is a great OC and I'm also wary of OC's but he really works and has great chemistry with everyone, especially Silver. The artist has had some setbacks but seems intent on continuing the series.

First of all, thank you so much for the incredible work you and all lot have been volunteering. I REALLY dig the enormous love the cast are doing for this rad as fuck comic. I have read all the five main issues in a go, and I couldn't be having anymore fun. The flow on the comic feels finally more quick and straightforward from points A to B, the interactions feel more meaningful between characters and, speaking as someone who doesn't feel fond much of Mecha Sally's arc, I loved ASO's take on closing it. That was a fantastic ending note, and I can only expect it will be an even grander one for King Naugus's (also another arc I didn't like). For a fan-comic, I find it of higher quality and only higher onwards, compared to 247# and before. Though I may not speak for everybody, I'm really liking the current direction.

If it's really not much of privacy-invading ask to respond, could you kindly tell me about any plans, incoming stories, anything at all as conceptualized for Rotor? Universe issue dedicated to him or the sort? No reason to wonder, just my eccentric fanaticism speaking loudly for this lovable nerd. What part of either of those is good worldbuilding? And outside of the names, they have next to nothing to do with the game locations. Eggperial City is no different design or setting wise from any other Eggman base. It just has the dubious honour of being the place where Eggman runs everything else from.

Yes, because Sega clearly wants to have a coherent setting but they're retarded and have no idea what the first step to doing that is. They tried with Boom (reminder that Boom would have been THE modern continuity had it succeeded), but then for whatever ungodly reason Sega literally sabotaged it mere weeks before release. They've irreversibly damaged the perception of the games in the eyes of the public zeitgeist to the point any attempt to give Sonic a worthwhile unified setting gets laughed at because it's always a dumpsterfire by people whose first reaction to negative reception isn't to figure out where they went wrong, but instead trash everything then slap on some new shit that inevitably fails to which they repeat the cycle.

Hell, the fact that they wanted Boom to replace the Modern continuity up until that point fucking TELLS you that Sega has no idea what they're doing. They don't want a setting, they don't want a world. They view Sonic solely as a brand to be used and altered as they see fit with no love or effort put into it whatsoever, and when something doesn't work out, they discard it in its entirety.

That's the story of Boom; they wanted something to replace the Modern continuity so they wouldn't have to deal with the history of Sonic up until then without putting in the effort to clear up the black marks on Sonic's name that THEY made to begin with. Then they literally sabotaged the game pretty much mere moments before release and quietly swept all the remains and any future plans for Boom under the rug. It was such a failure that they didn't even care about promoting or supporting the Boom show, which ironically worked in its favor and helped them salvage the idea. Not that Sega will ever admit it.
