It's a weird and wonderful comic, and you can really tell Evan loves making it. I think the better art is simply due to deadlines and Evan only doing the pencils. With official comics, you need a whole issue done in a month, so you have to simplify things. The inkers and colorists do a good job on IDW, especially since they don't have the time to do the more complex shading Evan likes to do, but having a single person work on the art does make GOTF look much more cohesive.

For all of SOJ's many, many faults, I really do commend their permissive stance on fanworks, particularly fangames. Most g-rated franchises (Disney, Mario, etc) would never allow a fanwork like this to exist, let alone allow the writer to continue on in any official capacity.

Much better. Characters talk more natural, there's more bouncing dialogue for better specifying traits of each, the fairly more focus on comedy bits helps a ton for fleshing out themselves and the world around them. You can just feel the sheer vibrancy stemming from theses issues.
Some people note about the awfully amount of shots directed on feet, but eh, it's not like we're any better on that regard. It's a fan-comic by Evan, so it's her choice to do whatever she wants. Otherwise, we're just being like SEGA. At the end of the day, it's all about how is she managing and handling her writing skills.

The way I see it, Scourge and Fiona went looking for something, Scourge had a breakdown, Fiona tried to talk sense to him, he hits her and she leaves him, he goes on without her, and she comes back to him right before he becomes what he is now and watches as she turns to stone and crumbles before him. I'm happier to see a good number of the comics are still going. Yeah it sucks that the rest just end and are extremely unlikely to have a continuation but it is what it is. Mobius University has a complete chapter but no continuation but there's a "no repost" label on the pages so out of respect I won't post those, even if they're cute and fun. I found a complete story with Sonic Boom Amy and Shadow but it was so un-Sonic Boom I didn't keep it. There are some that might be longer than Ghosts of the Future. Murder of Me might be longer with 14 chapters and the last one being 50 pages.
