Today we’re doing a couple of unusual comics. The first one is a feast for the eyes! The start of a mystery and ambitious attempt at a multiple part story following different characters. And you know what happens to ambitious projects on The Unofficial Ride! Anyway, Tails has found a mysterious emerald and it’s up to our heroes to find out what it is and where it came from. We've seen what happens to Creators that adhere to Iizuka's and SoJ's demands and mandates. A Sonic that can't lose or cry, a Shadow who can't be anything but a raging asshole, Team Dark that can't be FRIENDS for some goddamned reason, an absolutely schizophrenic take on humans where they're fine one minute and troo far in another. And a planet that they resolutely refuse to fucking name.

If I were to make a comic that Sega would mostly approve of, it would be one that is very basic with an emphasis on fun and action. Lean into the AOSTH stuff as well with monster of the week stories and putting Sonic and friends in fun little scenarios. Make villains that are Eggman-tier but not easily comparable to him and separated from him as much as possible. Magic villain, nature villain, psychic villain. etc. Would I try to push what I can get away with? Every once in a while. Would I get some ideas turned down for weird reasons? Of course. I'd also give Sonic a female companion that'd more or less keep him in line. No romance of course, I'd leave that to fanart.

Finally found this back. I was waiting for all part to be complete (artist didn't even start with part 1), but it seems he has moved out of that sequence.

Anyway, this is a chipmunk girl whose aunt is Sally, except in this AU, she is actually an actress playing the role of Sally in the SatAM show, which is a live TV show in that universe? I guess her mom played younger Sally or the other way around. Or her mom and Sally are twins and this Maria girl got dressed as younger Sally on the set.

It's almost completely unrelated to actual Sonic material, but I found the whole setting odd enough that I decided to post it here anyway.

I suspect this is a case of the artist realising his design for a character being a tad too close to an existing one and deciding to own it.
