Today we revisit a story that I thought was dead forever. Happy to see I was wrong! So, what happens when a Metal Sonic is created with Sonic’s DNA? You have a hybrid that will need to figure out what he wants to do with his newfound life. Luckily, his creator needs help so he’ll have something to do in the meantime. This is Awakening of Metal!

Sonic and the Freedom Fighters Note: Rabbotronics has been very good at evading blame for Eggman’s antics. Still, that old partnership is going to eventually bite them in the butt.

They probably take inspiration from plenty of sources, so it doesn't matter to me if some of those sources are fans so long as the comic is good.

I don't want anything from IDW touching on fanworks in an official capacity, even vaguely. It should just stay in its own bubble away from every other continuity.

General consensus that the fanworks are better because they're allowed to just tell stories naturally, and not follow a laundry list of ridiculous mandates like "Shadow can't be nice." "Sonic doesn't cry." "Whisper will not be dicked down by Silver while Tangle keeps her arms pinned over her head with her tail and forces her to eat her out."
Even as the one unironic IDW fan in the thread, I will admit a number of fanworks are just a better read because of this.

Anyway, I always love schizo shit, but not quite what I was looking for. I mean specifically someone making a character like Kit, except instead of using Tails's DNA and putting him in the role of a sidekick to Surge, Starline uses Amy or Knuckles's DNA and makes an obsessed suitor or rival.

That bothers the HELL out of me. I wanna read collected volumes in order without excluding those out of it. I might go fix that and make it a download. Also thinking of compiling Archie issues, specially using the better ones from thristposter for the next ride, to compile them into CBR files of chunks of the comic in their chrono order. That way people not wanting to track every individual archie issue down can read them in nice volumes digitally.

funny enough the Sonic design had done was originally gonna be Sonaze related with the hook being Sonic and Blaze's dimension fused permanently while they try to sort the fallout from that, could always revisit the idea after flesh out current AU enough. Also yeah do think gay villain duo is a really undertapped market for good characters, they at least just enjoy their relationship and don't angst.

Sonaze is a lot of fun, but the separate dimension thing does make things logistically difficult. I can see why you'd want to merge the dimensions.
It's so weird how much drama they insert in protagonist relationships but let the villain relationships be relatively drama free. Aside from that one falling out, Rough and Tumble genuinely enjoy spending time together and have a lot of shared interests. Even the movies are like this, with Robotnik and Stone being completely in sync with and never betraying the other even when it'd be convenient. The protagonists could honestly learn a lot from them!

yeah why I love super-villains couples or ships like I have a bit strong fondness for pairing Shocker and Scorpia from Spider-man. Also yeah was gonna use the merger to flesh out the differences with Sonic and Blaze's worlds with them merged, my idea was her world is more fantasy based, though also wanted to give Blaze more villains, had idea of Spider cultist leader who merged the dimensions cause the events of Rush were essentially a revelation to him, also Captain Metal cause he is fucking rad. I have a problem of lots of ideas but tendency to get distracted from them or just lose confidence in trying to use them in comms or writing.

Villain couples are great! I always thought Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd were a lot of fun. That all sounds very cool, definitely gives a good reason for the plot to move forward. Captain Metal was great since we got to see a very different side of Metal's personality, and you just know they'd have done some interesting stuff with him if the book hadn't been canceled. Yeah, I get that way too. Still, I'm determined to get a story draft out this year, even if it's absolutely terrible!

All I need is the stories in chronological order so either a pastebin with a list (like the arrchie one here: https://thankskenpenders.tumblr.com/readingorder) or a mega with the comics. I'd keep the original issue and page numbers for the filenames, but put them in folders by story.
