No worries, I actually used distance mapping, where each pixel in the image is replaced with a gray value dependent on the distance to the nearest obstacle pixel, generally a boundary pixel. From left to right, here's what happens when you narrow the distance threshold. The raw distances are along the top and the normalized ones are along the bottom. I've essentially used it as a quick and dirty way to find entropy/information in the image (areas with lots of variation). If you look along the top, more black dots means more information, which is typically where the artist wants you to look. There's probably a better way to do this though.

I found it a bit dull compared to Archie, and Shadow definitely isn't written how I like. I do like many of the new characters though, especially Rough, Tumble, and Starline. I'd also really like to see a Sonic Universe style comic, since they tended to have the most fun stories in Archie.

As for the comic, the art's more on model, but it lacks the highs and lows of Archie. You won't get Charmy's cousin dying of a drug overdose, but you also won't get the raw emotion of Locke sacrificing himself to save his son.

My main issue is you can't binge an ongoing comic and if there's something you don't like about the current issue, you have to wait a month for a new one. With Archie and Fleetway, you can binge entire story arcs and it doesn't matter that much if an individual issue doesn't land since you can just read the next one.

I thought the same thing about the Unleashed arc in reboot Archie when it was ongoing, but I found it only a bit too long when binging it. That said, the production seems a lot slower at IDW. We used to get a mainline and universe comic every month at Archie, but we barely get one issue a month from IDW. I don't think we ever had a hiatus at Archie either, although we probably should have with that "Many Hands" one.
