It surprises me to see further more people here rather enjoying and checking out these Sonic fan-comics, over purely condoning them. For the longest while, I had always felt the folks around here were largely apathetic and extremely in-tolerating to do with Sonic comics. I'm not very much of a elder user, though I don't think there's a better and best time to talk about Sonic comics than right now. Pretty cool!

I'm just reading through these GOTF comics, and so far, they seem great and I rather enjoy their own fueling of melodrama (if not a tad too much in some scenarios). I think we could use some more Sonic comics framed more or less in that way, envisioned on visualizing each character and their struggle and sorrows rooted deep from their hearts. Evan and her art shines so much here. I had only known about herself from Archie and IDW, but now I'm at least meeting her magnum opus, it's been a fun experience.

It's most probably (or least, depending on your criteria) that the writers are just severely unmotivated and disconnected of IDW comic. I think the gist is they, Ian and Evan, have depended always on their memories they had collected and cherished of from their old childhood with enjoying Archie Sonic and other legacy Sonic cartoons, for fueling their passions and aligning their minds on nailing down the sweetspot stories and writing, nonetheless their usual quality, all the same containing flavors of nuance to taste of. It's possible they still hoard far much of sentiments for Archie and past cartoons, and that, while was helpful for working behind on Archie offices, is blocking on their dried up creative juicing arteries on IDW, where now they are much more restricting on lifting off and being influenced.

Or at least, that's how I feel.

Well said! I was thinking along those lines too. The IDW comics always felt hollow to me, like they were just going through the motions. I actually stopped reading them since they just felt a bit sad (and this is coming from someone who's read Archie and Fleetway several times).
I could definitely see Ian having burnout, given how many continuities he's had to scrap. He came on to clean up the Penders-Bollers mess, then had to change direction to remove Penders' characters, then had to reboot the comic with the super genesis wave, then had to start again for IDW. It must suck having to keep starting from scratch with ever increasing mandates, and just discarding plot after plot. Evan's went through three of these as well, and you could really tell how passionate she was for her Gold the Tenrec character and storyline. It must be a real monkey's paw wish to officially work on your favorite series, but just be burnt out and a little bored with it.

The problem is Archie Robotnik didn't die in a natural way but was erased from existence with the Ultimate Annihilator, and that's what's making some sort of cosmic imbalance that using Robo-Robotnik fixes.
